The youthful face is characterized by a diffuse, balanced distribution of superficial and deep fat pads which act as structural support to our face. With age, the fat pads slowly disappear allowing the facial tissues to gradually slide forward and down giving rise to the prominence of the aging face.
Dermal Fillers are used to contour, volumize and revitalize the appearance of the facial structure and skin. Dermal Fillers contain hyaluronic acid (HA), a natural component of the skin that diminishes as we age. HA is hydrophilic, meaning it holds on to water creating additional volume and hydration.
At Catherine M Aesthetics, I use top-of-the-line FDA-approved fillers to replace your natural volume that’s lost over time. I strive for a look that aligns with your goals and enhances your natural features.
Dermal fillers produce immediate results that can last up to 18 months, depending on the type of treatment performed and your lifestyle.
Tear trough filler treatment also referred to as under-eye filler, is a popular cosmetic solution for tackling tired-looking eyes. This non-surgical procedure involves carefully injecting a gel-like substance, hyaluronic acid dermal filler, into specific areas around the eyes and effectively replacing the lost volume brought about through the aging process. The outcome is smoother, younger-looking, more radiant skin and a reduction in deep wrinkles and lines.
Nasolabial Folds or “smile-lines” are deep creases that run from the corners of the nose to the corners of the mouth. This is an area that can worsen with age. Fat loss in the cheeks results in a reduction of skin volume, making this fold look even deeper. Smiling, sleeping on a certain side, or having a big smile can result in these creases becoming permanent.
Dermal filler in this area and possibly the cheeks can restore the loss of volume, therefore softening the appearance of the creases. The final result aims to smooth, refresh and restore the appearance. Please be aware that this area may require 2-3 visits to reach the full desired effect due to the number of layers of the skin’s dermis. Once the final desired result is achieved it will last 6-12 months with only touch-ups required after this time.
Cheekbone enhancement is a non-surgical procedure that requires filler to be injected into the cheekbone area using a needle, cannula technique, or a combination of the two, to create structure, volume, or both depending on the individual needs of the client.
Age, often results in the reduction of the fat pads located in the cheeks, giving a sunken look to the cheeks and around the eye area. Filler can restore volume to improve this. If high cheekbones and structure are sought after rather than volume, this can also be achieved. Filler can give those with a round, fuller face a more chiseled and defined shape and profile. Cheek filler is also great for lifting areas in the lower areas of the face, such as the nasolabial folds.

With age comes volume loss (we lose 50% by the age of 50) leading to thinning of the lips, which can then cause the formation of fine lines and wrinkles around the border and sides of the mouth. Lip filler can restore volume and youthful fullness to the lips. If you choose, filler can also be placed strategically to lift the corners of the mouth and smooth out the lines above and below the lips. I have had comprehensive, hands-on training in the latest lip techniques which include training from Julie Horne. I have a variety of FDA-approved dermal fillers designed to create a more natural lip look that will enhance without drawing attention to an unnatural fullness.
Jawline filler is a great way to enhance the contour and structure of the jawline, bringing strength and character to the face, chin, and jawline. During a jawline contouring treatment, the application of dermal fillers is used to fill out the area, effectively sculpting and reshapinng the jaw.
Dermal filler injections can also be used to enhance and even out the facial structure bringing a more aesthetically pleasing appearance with overall satisfaction rates being very high.
In the instance where jowls are of concern, dermal fillers are appropriate to help restore collagen, a protein in the skin that’s responsible for youthful volume, and elastin, which maintains the skin’s ability to bounce back – to lift the skin. Resulting in the area appearing tighter, and more contoured, giving you a more refined and/or chiseled appearance.
A weak chin can be successfully corrected using the same technique.
The balance of facial features is key to the aesthetic look of your face. Chin filler is a popular treatment used to help enhance a weak chin or to smooth out irregularities such as dimpling by increasing volume to the area.
Also known as non-surgical chin augmentation, chin fillers have grown in popularity in recent years. An injection of dermal fillers (containing hyaluronic acid) can be used to subtly reshape and remodel the chin, leaving you feeling more confident with your enhanced facial profile and definition.
Results show immediately, but best after 2 weeks.

As we age, the skin on our hands begins to thin. A loss of hydration along with bone shrinkage is also a natural part of the aging process. It is important not to neglect the hands when we think of anti-aging treatments.
We focus so much on our faces, yet the hands can often show our true age. Hand fillers are an injectable treatment primarily containing Hyaluronic Acid, which plumps and rejuvenates the skin leaving hands looking fuller, well-hydrated, and more youthful.
