Below are answers to our most Frequently Asked Questions. If you don’t find your answer below, please contact us and we will be happy to answer your question.
WHAT ARE FILLERS MADE FROM?
Dermal Fillers are madHyaluronic Acid, a naturally occurring substance within the body, which with age reduces, therefore reduces fullness and plumpness within the face, allowing for lines, wrinkles and reduced fullness. Dermal Fillers also contain Lidocaine unless special ordered due to an allergy. The first dermal filler was approved by the FDA in 1981.
CAN DERMAL FILLERS BE USED WITH OTHER TREATMENTS?
Dermal fillers can be combined effectively with neurotoxin treatment. Receiving Botox/Dysport treatments followed by a dermal filler is one of the most common combination treatments and can actually prolong the effects of dermal fillers.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BOTOX/DYSPORT AND FILLERS (like Juvederm®️️ and Restylane®️️)?
Neuromodulators like Botox and Dysport temporarily inhibit muscle contractions and thereby eliminate wrinkles caused by movement around your eyes, across your forehead, and between your brows for about 3-4 months.
Fillers, such as Juvederm and Restylane (two brands also made by different companies) are hyaluronic acid particle substances that are used to restore fullness to your face in areas where you need it. Over time, we lose volume in our cheeks, under our eyes, and in our lips. Or perhaps, we want a different shape for cosmetic reasons. Products such as Juvederm and Restylane can add fullness to these areas to enhance our looks or make us look younger instantly. Juvederm and Restylane fillers can last up to a year or longer.
